Even the Department of Defense recognizes the importance of CPR. This past week, medical personnel assigned to a guided-missile destroyer taught the ship’s crew cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
CPR training was originally provided to the crew who work with electronic equipment, but the classes are now provided to the entire crew.
There are many hazards on a ship, and the AHA estimates that more than 90,000 people are saved each year with CPR. Having sailors familiar with life-saving techniques just makes sense.
Be a hero. Learn CPR!
